About me
When I’m not in the classroom teaching eleven-to-thirteen-year-olds, I’m a creative author and artist living on the Surrey/Hampshire border.
I’ve had a real love affair with the Balearics for decades, visiting at all times of year with family and friends - and sometimes happily on my own! Over the years, those trips have inspired countless paintings, as well as the characters and settings for the novel I’m currently writing.
Set between London and Mallorca, the story follows two women from very different backgrounds whose lives, hopes and challenges turn out to be surprisingly similar.
I love bringing places I know and have visited to life in my stories, whether that’s here in England or over in Mallorca. My writing is likely to appeal to readers who enjoy authors such as Joanna Trollope, Katie Fforde and Lucy Foley — and I’m hoping it might make the perfect holiday read for your next flight to somewhere sunny!
My painting has evolved over the years too, and these days I mainly create watercolour house portraits on commission — a lovely way of capturing a much-loved home in paint.

From teacher to published author and artist
My writing journey began during lockdown, in a rather unexpected way! I’m a teacher and mum to two boys, and with life suddenly slowing down, I found myself with a bit more time to get creative. I started writing children’s stories, which eventually led to me self-publishing several books on Amazon in the summer of 2020. It was such a lovely way to combine my love of storytelling with creating something children could enjoy.
Lockdown also got me completely hooked on painting. I started with oils, painting canvases both big and small, before moving on to acrylics and, more recently, watercolours. Over time, I’ve developed my own style, particularly with watercolour, and this has led to one of my favourite things to paint — houses! I’ve been lucky enough to create dozens of house portraits through commissions, which has been incredibly rewarding. I love the idea of capturing a home that means something special to someone and turning it into a painting they can keep.
I guess art and reading have always been part of my life in one way or another. I come from a family of teachers and artists, so I’ve never been far from either. My grandmother painted in oils back in the 1930s, and some of her paintings still hang in my parents’ home today. It feels quite special to think that creativity has been passed down through the family.

A lifelong love affair with words
I have always been a bookworm, and writing short stories has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. This deep-rooted love for literature now fuels my two novels, which intricately weave together my writing passion with my affection for the beautiful Balearic Islands. Prospective agents will find a dedicated storyteller committed to crafting compelling narratives.
"This beautiful story is wonderfully written, telling the tale of young Max who finds peace and inspiration in times of lock down crisis . My children loved it and the brilliant illustrations. Moving and heartwarming earned a full five stars"
